Keeping Skills up-to-date

Once establishing a niche, what are some of the ways, websites, or places that one can keep their skills up-to-date or even get certification until they get busy with clients?

Just word and Excel or Access , Powerpoint, Outlook too?

What is you you are looking at learning specifically?

Microsoft has a huge repository of information related to each application and any new releases. I'd start there and then for anything specific that you want to learn you can always find people who've recorded tutorials and posted them to YouTube.

There are also so 'classroom' based sites like for example where you can access a wide range of resources to learn new things or keep up to date on old basics.
